What is LEED Homes

LEED for Homes Design and Construction is a specific rating system under the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification program focusing on single-family homes and multifamily buildings up to three stories. It is administered by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and is designed to promote the construction of sustainable, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly residential buildings.

Certification Levels:

 

Similar to other LEED rating systems, LEED for Homes offers four levels of certification based on the number of points earned:

  • Gold: 60-79 points

  • Platinum: 80+ points
